Hi Everyone!
As we wrap up another great year of combo shots and accidental bank miracles, I wanted to share some updates coming to Greater Seattle APA in 2026!
All of these bullet points are at least a little interesting in my opinion, so please take a look at each of them.
💵 Weekly Team Dues
The planned increase to $60 per match, as mentioned in the Bylaws, is scheduled for Summer Session 2026.
You’ll get a little longer at the current rate.
💰 New Tournament — The Cash Cup
I’m launching a new team tournament called The Cash Cup, with the first one planned for January 2027.
Starting in Spring 2026, regular 8/9-Ball teams will be able to qualify.
This info is preliminary and subject to change, but here’s the concept:
- Potential automatic qualification for 1st place teams in each division, each session
- Estimated $20,000 prize fund
- Teams qualifying multiple times may receive bonuses or preferred seeding
More details will come as I finalize them.
📣 Spring Session Starts Soon!
Got new teams? Now is the time to sign up!
The next session begins Sunday, January 4th, 2026.
Teams can join now, or join late (within the first 4 weeks) at 1 point behind last place.
All bars and all players are welcome — especially beginners.
If someone wants to play pool, I will do my best to help them learn, have fun, and enjoy our friendly player community.
📄 Spring 2026 Week 1 Scoresheets
Week 1 scoresheets are already released — but only so you can make roster changes if needed.
You can find them in the Scorekeeper App by switching from Fall 2025 → Spring 2026 at the top.
Expect schedule adjustments throughout this month (and possibly next month) as I solve issues and finalize rosters.
If you haven’t confirmed your registration in the Scorekeeper App, please do so ASAP.
I’ll also begin matchmaking for teams that need players soon.
🧍 Singles Qualifiers — Prices Decreasing
I’ll be bringing Singles Qualifier pricing down by discounting a larger share of the board cost for league members.
I want more players to be able to participate without breaking the bank.
🔁 Tri-Annual → World Qualifier & Cash Cup
Tri-Annual prize money will be reallocated to the World Qualifier and the Cash Cup.
Teams that advance from Tri-Annuals to the World Qualifier will still get prize money — just later at the World Qualifier instead of at the Tri-Annuals.
🎁 Free Cues for New (or Split) Teams
Every captain of a new regular 8/9-Ball team next session will receive a free pool cue.
DJ teams receive two cues.
You’ll need to self-report via a Google Form when you create a new team to receive your cue.
I still have a few cues left to deliver from Fall!
Also remember:
If your team qualifies for the World Qualifier and splits into two teams with exactly 4 original players each, both teams remain qualified.
🌞 New Divisions
Launching:
- Sunday Noon DJ — Kent/Auburn
- Friday 6PM DJ — Bellevue
If you’re interested, comment or message me.
These divisions will start only if there’s enough interest.
📅 Help Needed: DJ Divisions
Teams needed for:
- Monday Noon DJ — Kent/Auburn
- Tuesday 6PM DJ — Kent/Auburn
Let me know if you’d like to join — and of course, all other divisions are great options too!
Thanks for a great year.
Enjoy the holidays, and I’ll see you at the tables soon! 🎱❄️
Your Greater Seattle APA League Operator,
Tom
