This Saturday November 22nd Greater South Atlanta is having a 6 & Up Melee at Southside Billiards. I'm adding $125 and the entry fee is $25. The doors open at 12pm and the tournament starts at 1pm. All current GS Atlanta APA players are welcome but if your current skill level is below a 6 then you will have to play as a 6. Don't be scared. Come try your luck. Maybe the pressure of winning more games allows you to rise to the challenge and find that missing piece to get you to the next level.
We are also going into the last week of the season.
NO REPLAYS are allowed the last week of the session.
Please register your team for the next session.
Playoff week is the first week of December and the new session starts the week of December 7th.
First place awards will be determined at the end of the session. First place captains don't forget to email me the names you want on awards once the final standings have been posted.
Fall Session 9-Ball Tri-annuals is Jan. 10th and 11th.
Fall Session 8-Ball Tri-annuals is Jan. 24th and 25th.
Places for growth in Greater South Atlanta
1. Big Daddy's Oyster Bar - we are starting a Sunday afternoon division. Please contact me to get on a team as we need more players.
2. JB Billiards - we currently have 4 8-Ball teams in-house on Tuesday nights and we need to expand to at least 6. Contact me to get on a team or bring a team. They just re-felted and re-leveled their tables.
3. JB Billiards - we currently want to build 2 travel teams for Double Jeopardy (8-Ball and 9-Ball same night) on Wednesday night to travel between Hapeville Corner Tavern and Chair's Upstairs Bar. They just re-felted and re-leveled their tables.
4. Charlie's Sports Bar - Just got their tables re-felted and re-leveled. Ready for more teams to play out of there.
5. Chair’s Upstairs Bar - Just got their tables re-felted and re-leveled. Ready for more teams to play out of there.
6. Southside Billiards and Blvd Billiards - on Mondays and Tuesdays still have room to add multiple additional teams.
Lastly, we are super close to the team count needed to guarantee a second team being sent to Las Vegas this year for 8-Ball. Anybody looking to split their team or start a new team for the Spring session on a new night needs to talk to me. I want to send as many of you’ll to Vegas as possible, but that choice leaves my hands if we don’t meet what nationals requires. So help me continue to build this league into the Gold Standard of what a pool league should be. One that prioritizes the sheer fun of playing league and building a community that loves and respects each other for what we all bring.
