Welcome to the 2025 Scotch Doubles League, session I!
Below are a few new facts and reminders of the Scotch Doubles League session. Please make sure to read and also go to www.ccpoolplayers.com and read full Bylaws, under DOCUMENTS. It is your responsibility to know the rules and qualification requirements.
NEW- Starting this year, we are going to utilize the standard APA Doubles Division format, allowing teams to be made up of 2 or 3 members, in order to have as few make ups as possible. Everyone enjoys doubles, though not so much having to deal with several make ups each session. Neither do we in the office, trying to run a smooth session for everyone. We’re hoping this change will help.
Only 2 players on a team will be allowed to advance to the Local Playoffs and Showdown Series tournament in Vegas. The 3rd teammate would be considered a substitute during regular weekly play. Keep in mind, if 3 players on the team, any combination of the three must be able to meet skill level max of ten (10) on week 1.
Keep in mind, teams play every other Friday and must play at the designated location! Teams must text Nikki (854-252-6411) if rescheduling is absolutely necessary and let her know when make-up match is to be played. Too many make up matches and team will be subject to being dropped. Teams who forfeit 2 matches during the session, will NOT be eligible for playoffs.
Any make ups have to be submitted to office prior to 2 weeks before last week of play! And a reminder…ALL DUES AND SCORE SHEETS NEED TO BE SENT IN DAY AFTER PLAY!
Winning doubles team, as stated in the Doubles Bylaws, will receive $599.00. Depending on the size of the league, we also hope to be able to give the substitute player some travel assistance as well, to go out with the team to Vegas.
* Each player advancing to the local Championship must have a minimum of 10 singles matches played in the last 2 years to play in the local Championship, as well as 6 matches with the team during the session. * A minimum of 20 scored matches by March 1 of the Championship year is required in order to play in Vegas at the Championship.
Teams of 2 or 3, must begin division play at a combined SL10 or less, regardless of who is playing.
Teams may increase in the session to a combined SL 12, and remain eligible for Vegas.
If the team improves to a combined SL13 or higher, at least 1 player will need to be replaced so that the team returns to a combined SL10 handicap or less.
ANOTHER REMINDER GUYS…. MATCHES MUST BE PLAYED AT DESIGNATED LOCATIONS AND ON DESIGNATED DATES UNLESS A MAKE UP HAS BEEN APPROVED BY THE APA OFFICE!
Good luck, and have a fun session!
